Photographer Kilian Schönberger takes us on a journey into the scary tales of the Brothers Grimm. This fascinating series of photographs was shot by Kilian as he traveled through the remote middle areas of Europe, the same areas that inspired the Brothers Grimm to write their series of eerie tales. The pictures capture the essence of the land with a combination of rugged beauty and sinister appeal as shadows stretch forth from tangled trees. The misty air floating among the trees adds to the ghostly feeling of the area, sending chills down our spine, just as many of the Grimm stories are able to do. While the lands are filled warmhearted people, these images help us understand why the Grimm tales were filled with horror and darkness. (x)
